Position available for Program Director

Reports To: Executive Director 

Position: Full -Time Exempt

Qualification Requirement:

​

College degree to work equivalent. Ability to relate to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with empathy and support to make their own decision. Professional appearance and manner. Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training conducted by Safe Place Inc. must be completed within 90 days after date of hire. 

Ability To:

​​

  • The ability to respond in a constructive manner to adults and children in a crisis.

​

  • Sensitivity varying cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds, values attitudes and languages.

​

  • Be experienced in independent job structuring. 

​

  • Possess an understanding of family violence their rights and options. 

​

  • Ability to speak and write clearly and to provide accountability. 

​

  • Ability to enforce rules, create and uphold work standard and enforce discipline when needed. 

Physical Qualifications:

​

​Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 25 lbs. Physically able to reach, climb, stand, kneel, crouch / stoop, squat and the ability to climb stairs. 

Specific Job Duties

​

  • ​Responsible for managing all staff and offering support to supervisors in order to ensure teamwork, positive morale and the effective delivery of service.

​

  • In Coordination with staff / volunteers, ascertain and address of clients during their stay at the shelter and during the provision of nonresident services.

​

  • Assist the Executive Director in the development of staff and new victim-based programs. 

​

  • Demonstrate understanding of the agency goals, philosophy and available services working within the agency framework. 

​

  • Promote Safe Place Inc. in the community and in each of our outlying areas by providing presentations to community organizations, faith based organizations, schools, etc. 

​

  • Promote volunteerism, train volunteers, log volunteer and community service hours. 

​

  • Organize and promote community education & outreach initiatives and events. 

​

  • Supervise services provided to clients by staff and recommend procedural changes to the director when needed.

​

  • Provide both Management and Technical Assistance to This-N-That Thrift Store as needed. 

​

  • Respond positively and effectively to customer complaints and comments. 

​

  • Propose changes to improve the business, and with input and approval from the Executive Director; implement those improvements. 

​

  • Coordinate activités with relevant organizations and agencies to create pubic awareness. 

​

  • Supervise, Organize and train as necessary to ensure grant requirements are being met appropriately.

​

  • Providing emergency or workshops pertinent to job performance and as required by Grantors. 

​

  • Track time off requests in a calendar and cross reference the log with time sheets. 

​
